| Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® Certified Hendrickson Method Practitioner® Certified Ergonomic Evaluations Specialist Certified Massage Therapist. Education Private Practice Teaching Experience Ergonomic Consultation Seth began his career in the healing arts in 1993 as a massage therapist and his background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Somatic Psychology, over ten years experience training in the martial arts and a second-degree black belt in Aikido. Seth has also studied classical and jazz saxophone and Zen meditation. Education Seth completed a four-year Feldenkrais Professional Training Program in 1997 culminating in certification. He has participated in hundreds of hours of advanced training seminars and supervision groups and continues to hone his skills and stay abreast of the newest developments in movement education and science. Seth trained directly with Tom Hendrickson, D.C. founder of the Hendrickson Method of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Massage in Berkeley in 2008, and is a certified Hendrickson Method Practitioner. Seth also continues his study with Tom to learn advanced manual therapy. Seth received his Ergonomic Certification from Roy Matheson & Associates in 1998, and his Massage Certification at the Esalen Institute in 1993. Seth received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Somatic Psychology at New College of California that included a written thesis bridging Dynamic Systems Theory and the Feldenkrais Method. Private Practice Seth maintains a private bodywork practice giving individuals Feldenkrais and Orthopedic Manual Therapy sessions and teaching Feldenkrais classes and workshops. He practices at Paris Healing Arts, located in scenic Monterey, California. Seth also works people with patients in rehabilitation at Reber Physical Therapy in Aptos, CA. Teaching Experience Seth has taught Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes since 1995. He began teaching at a variety of locations in the San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay Areas. He originated Feldenkrais classes at both Piedmont and Alameda Adult Schools, and for people with Multiple Sclerosis through the M.S. Society. Seth has taught Feldenkrais classes to employees at corporations in Santa Cruz and for professional musicians and music teachers. Ergonomic Consultation In addition to his Feldenkrais work, Seth also works as an Ergonomic Consultant providing injury prevention and evaluation services. He is a licensed provider of the Occucom system of occupational ergonomics. Seth also worked for Motion Based Ergonomics Inc, teaching a revolutionary new method of keyboard and mouse retraining for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Seth has worked with a variety of corporations and municipalities providing ergonomic services, some of these include Sun Microsystems, SRI International, Berkeley Farms, Edify, City of Livermore, City of Pleasanton, County of Alameda, Santa Clara County, and San Benito County. | |
