Performance
'Good' Body Mechanics, from a Feldenkrais perspective, refers to the efficient, well-coordinated use of the human body in action. The Feldenkrais Method of Movement Education is a very effective approach to teaching body mechanics to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Most athletes and performers are already aware of the importance of learning good body mechanics. Few people, however, realize that everyone can benefit from learning to use their bodies more effectively and efficiently for everyday activities. It is helpful both when recovering from injuries as well as learning safer ways of moving to prevent injuries.

Learning good body mechanics can:

  • Reduce stress on the Spine

  • Reduce wear and tear on the muscles and joints

  • Improve performance in sports, dance, and music

  • Develop powerful movement with less muscular effort

  • Reduce likelihood of strain and injury

  • Improve posture and alignment

  • Develop ease, grace and comfort in movement

  • Enhance efficiency and endurance in any activity

  • Improve breathing
